EOTC Activites.

Hello 

Last week we had EOTC. For EOTC we went to Orana Park, Quail Island, Surfing, Clip n Climb and the New Brighton hot pools. 

My favourite trip was when we went surfing because you could go out deep and catch waves back into the shore. My second favourite was Clip n Climb because there was heaps of different things to climb and they where all different.

Athletics Zones.

 Last week I had zones for athletics. The things I went to zones for where sprints and relay. To get to the zones we went on the bus. I sat next to Jayden on the bus. We where allowed to bring our phone so I played on it on the bus. 

When we arrived there was so many schools everywhere. It was from year 4 to year 8. After a bit I had to go do the relay with Jayden, James, and Riley. I started I did OK off the start then passed the baton to James.

We got fifth out of everyone. When I got back I had to go to sprints so I went down and raced. Sadly I got last.

Buddy Class

 Today we had buddy class, my buddy's name is Blake. For buddy class we played board games. The first thing we did was made a tower out of colourful sticks. After we finished making that we knocked it down it looked very cool. Then we went and played Uno with my friend Jayden and his buddy Ollie. Then we played Pop Up Pirate me and Blake won. But then had to pack up and leave.

Athletics Practice.

Yesterday and today my school is practising for athletics. There are multiple different things that we do there is. High jump, long jump, discus, shot put, sprints, and long distance running. My favourite is high jump. On Tuesday next week we are going to see who is going to go to zones. I think I can make it to zones for at least one thing.

Swimming

 The last two weeks we have been doing swimming lessons, at Canterbury Swim School. It has been really fun and I have learnt a lot. The main thing I learnt was how to do was freestyle. We learnt how to do it with a board and without one. My swimming instructor's names were Sue and Bella. At first my group had Sue but then she had to go so we had Bella.

My anime character.

 Hello Bloggers today I am going to show you my anime character I made on Wednesday.  I tried to make mine look like me I think I have done an OK job on it. I even put some of my favourite stuff in like a soccer background. I also put a elephant soft toy. To make it look a bit better.

Buddy class.

 Today we had buddy class we did the same as last week we played board games with our buddy. When my class first got there the teacher explained what we where doing. When she was finished talking we got sent of to play some board games. We went over to these blocks that where very fun to play with we had a competition to see who could make the best thing. It was me and my buddy Blake. And my friend Riley and his buddy Toby. Sadly we lost, we went over to another game and built a giant big tower out of colourful plastic sticks.

Buddy class.

 Today we had buddy class we played board games for it. When we got to my buddys class i sat down next to my buddy Blake. My friend Riley also was in my group because he did not have a buddy yet. The first game we played was a game where you can make heaps of different things with blocks that connect. I do not know the name of the game tho. I made a person that kinda looked like a robot it was cool. 

This Weeks Task Master.

 Today we did task master for the first time in a while because of corona virus. Instead of only doing one Taskmaster we did 2. My group was me Marvin and Oakley. Sadly Oakley was not there so it was only me and Marvin. The first challenge was to get something that spun really good in 2 minutes. I found a soccer ball which we used. We were the second group to do ours. We got 14 seconds of spin time we won! The second activity was to get a piece of paper you had 5 minutes to rip it into something. The best would win. Sadly we got last.

Soccer Zones.

Hello today I am going to tell you about soccer zones.

 On Wednesday this week I went to soccer zones. To get to Hagley park we went in a car. When we got to Hagley park we had to walk for 10 mins to get to the rest of our team. Our first game started I was on the side ready to go on. It was only 5 mins each half. Someone blew a air horn It was half time. I went on the field I got close to scoring but missed. Sadly they scored and won the game. We lost all the rest of our games but in one our team got 2 goals but we still lost. We went back to school then went home. Here are some photos of it.

Buddy class.

At buddy class this week we played board games with our buddy. My buddy's name was Blake he is cool. as soon as my class got to room 2, 3 and 4 we sat on the mat. The teacher told us that we were playing board games. 

Me and Blake got up and got connect 4 to play. we played with Jayden also his buddy Ollie. me and Jayden explained how to play connect 4 to our buddy's then told them to play. Ollie won the game we got a different board game. 

It was guess who, we also explained how to play guess who. They played but this time Blake my buddy won. At the end we figured out that Ollie was better at connect 4. And Blake better at guess who.

My Abstract Art.

This week I have been doing my abstract art. I haven't had much time to finish it but i think it is still did quite good. Abstract art is where you can draw stuff that doesn't have to look like the thing itjust hasto symbolise it. You can write stuff or draw pictures of the stuff you like. You can also draw something that relates to your family if you want to. You can draw anything you like.

Winter sport starting today!

Hello

Today winter sport is starting. For winter sport i am playing soccer because that was my favourite sport on the list that we could choose. before the school holidays we choose our sport we went to the gym to get some uniform for soccer. I the teacher also put up a piece of paper up to see what teams we are in also what team we were versing. I was in the hornby city team and i was versing yaldhurst/my old school. after we got our uniform for soccer we went home then the next day we where going to play scoccer. right now i am in my uniform ready to play.

Technology Challange.

Today we did a Technology challenge. The challenge was to make some DIY stilts.  To make them we only had some materiel's we had 30 pages of newspaper some string and tape. So it was very hard to make. We where allowed to use our shoes to make it a wee bit easier. Our group did not do that well but some of the other groups did. The people in my group were Me, Micky and Xavier. It was fun to make but we didn't do well. Here is a photo of us making it.

My superhero poster.

This week we have been working on some super hero posters. The first step to making our superhero posters was to draw a cool title on the top of the page. The second step was to draw a  super hero in the middle of the page. After that we had to colour in our superhero in cool colours. Mobile phones.

Hi guys this week for reading we have been learning about mobile and smart phones.

I also made a phone case that I will show you at the end. We learnt that the first mobile phones you had to pull out and antenna to get signal to ring someone. They where also very big and they where a funny shape.  The  ones today are quite small and  look cool because they are a rectangle shape. Anyway now that we are at the end of the blog post I will show you my phone case design:

Covid-19 poster.

Hello.

This week we got back to school because we went into level 2. When we got back to school we had to do social distancing and we could not play touching games. We also had to bring a named drink bottle every day. We did a poster about Covid -19 as well.  Here is a picture of my poster:

What’s the difference between a comet, asteroid, meteoroid, meteor & meteorite?

A comet is small and orbits the sun.it has a fuzzy outline and sometimes a fuzzy tail.

An Asteroid are small solar system that orbit the sun and they are made of rock and metal. Asteroids are similar to comets but do not have a visible fuzzy tail like comets do.

Meteoroid is a small rock or debris there size is dust to 10m.

Meteor is a shooting star

Meteorite is one that has fallen to earth and hit the surface.

This Week's Task Master.

This week we did Task Master. Our task this week was to get any material we wanted. We had to make the biggest perfect circle around a object that we picked we could use anything in the classroom. Miss Scott got out some string to draw a circle around. Every one rushed to get the string but my group found a seat it wasent that big but it was still a circle. We got some chalk then went out side to draw around it. and found a good spot to draw a circle  around the seat then we were done. Here are some photos. This week's buddy class.

This week I went to buddy class. This week our task with our buddy was you have a sheet of paper. It have 3 bins on it. The bins where the red bin the yellow bin and the green bin. We had to go out with the paper and find stuff that went in each of the bins. My buddy's name was Blake. We went outside to find some stuff to put in the bins. The stuff we put in the red bin was glad wrap. And the stuff we put in the green bin was dead grass. We also put some paper in the yellow bin. At the end We glued all the stuff onto the bins. Then i told Blake to go put it in his bag but he throw it over the fence and it blew away.

Week 6 Task Master.

Today we did this thing called Task Master. It is very fun because every Friday your teacher will give you a task that you have to complete. This week's task was your team gets a full cup of water every person in you team gets a cup and you have to run 100m with the cup in your hand. You Where allowed to make a contraption to keep the cup for spilling but you only had 5 mins. My team got a bucket and put heaps of little sponges in it to keep the cup from Spilling the team at the end with the fastest time and the most water in the cups wins. the people in my team are Xavier Oakley and me Lewis. here are some photos of it.

Buddy class.

Hi bloggers. today we had buddy class in the year 1 class room 3 and 4. My buddy's name was Blake. He was only 5 years old. We had to make a sesame street character. My buddy was cool because he could do alot for a 5 year old he was quiet smart. But sometimes he was a bit silly. Because he had a pair of scissors and he was going round cutting stuff. He cut the peice of paper we where using. I told him to go get some pens to color in. We finished coloring in i started cutting it out when we where done we showed the teacher. Then sat on the mat. Our Teacher told us to go back to our class.

elgregoe comes to hornby primary school.

Today I am going to tell you about Elgregoe. Last week Elgregoe  came to my school. I really liked it because he has heaps of parrots and birds. He is my favorite magician. My favorite parrot was the big multi colored parrot. My favorite trick was when he put a kid on a table with chairs holding it up and then he took the chairs away but the table with the kid on it was floating. He also told us all about being kind. My 2nd favorite trick was where he pulled a rabbit out of a bucket. I also liked his puppet named Bazil.

Hi guys my name is Lewis and today I made a poster about Waitangi day and why the British people wanted the treaty. I made it very colorful and bright colors it took us quite a while to make.
